They have also been referred to as sedge hats, rice paddy hats, coolie hats, and peasant hats. They have a sharp point and include a chin strap to help the hat stay on the head.


Braided conical hats are the same as regular conical hats except different colored straw or bamboo is braided through the hat to create designs.

Pineapple hats follow the same basic structure as conical hats and serve the same purpose. The difference is that they are woven with complex braiding to create shapes resembling the husks of a pineapple.

Other traditional hats for peaseant, is the bamboo hats, which can be acted as some kind of straw hats. They are weaved like straw hats, but using different thinner and accerorating material of bamboo as rough material. This will make the hats more vivid, natural and pratical.
